I LOVE purple! Now this means I happen to love any flower that is purple and two such flowers come to mind... Jacaranda's & Agapanthus. Sadly the Jacaranda season has come to a close here in Brisbane, but the Agapanthus are still going strong!

A row of beautiful Agapanthus line the wall right outside my office window. Yesterday I was working away finalising client's orders in preparation for delivery next week when I momentarily looked up from my desk. Outside it had been gently raining for most of the day. One has to love a drizzly day ... my favourite kind of day. There is just something about them. After a serious run of humid and stinky hot days here in Brisbane, it was lovely to finally enjoy a slight drop in temperature and that humidity! Looking out my office window and out to the gorgeous Agapanthus' I noticed another love .... raindrops. My favourite flower was covered with one of my favourite things! They were gorgeous. There was only one thing left to do ~ and with that I grabbed my faithful SLR camera (Canon 5D Mk III) and my current favourite lens (my 100mm L Series F2.8 Macro) and headed out into the soft drizzle to photograph my two favourites. I must say I did thoroughly enjoy getting out there. Photographing something different to my normal subject and escaping the office for a few short moments. I took a little 'time out' from my busy day to document something that is special to me.
