I've been asked many times as a Family and Newborn Portrait Photographer by clients if its okay for them to bring items of significance with them to their portrait sessions. My answer to this is always "YES of coarse!". This image is one that really sticks out in my memory. Now no longer a little bubba and she has since become a big sister, it was an image from her Newborn Session that really stands out in my memory as an image that will always have a very special significance for her Mother.

At her session Mum presented a very significant accessory to try and work into the shoot. This accessory being her gorgeous headpiece worn on her Wedding Day. Wow .... love, love, love this shot and all that it means! What a beautiful connection. I remember at the end of this session looking up at my client (and I must admit with a few goosebumps) and saying to her ..."You have just started your very own family tradition!" With time I can just see Baby G using her wedding headpiece with her own little one, the next generation ... or you never know, using the very same headpiece she wore in her own Newborn Session. Isn't this such a wonderful thought. A tradition beautifully captured for future generations .... a beautiful family heirloom. It's never too late to start your very own Family Tradition.
