Fond memories of a time gone by merged with those moments from today. What a fun morning out with two of my favourite little brothers and their parents. I have been regularly documenting their family now for over four years. I love catching up with these little men & their Mum & Dad. Naturally, these guys are growing way too fast and catching up for their Family Portrait Sessions are always so fun! Prior to this session we had only photographed at home ~ Mum's Maternity sessions, both boy's Newborn sessions, and then three monthly during the boys' first year. A wonderful keepsake of each of the boys' first year presented in lovely family albums and prints. A beautiful family keepsake at the end of each boy's first year!

We decided on this occasion to photograph away from home and on location. When deciding locations the first question I always ask is ~ 'is there anywhere special you would like to visit?'. It was towards the end of October and Jacaranda season in South East Queensland. Mum & Dad like the University and it just so happened it is also one of Brisbane's best locations to see the gorgeous colour of the Jacarandas. Decision made!

I really do love what I do. I get to hang out in some of the most gorgeous locations. Scouting locations are so much fun! During the week leading up to a location shoot I always visit the location ... I do this simply to avoid any unexpected surprises on the day of the session. On this occasion it was to confirm the Jacaranda's were still in bloom. On arrival the trees were in full bloom and looking AMAZING! It was exciting knowing we would be visiting in only a few very short days ... then ... the night before our scheduled shoot .... it rained ... actually more like it poured! Brisbane experienced a very heavy overnight summer rain downpour. I woke thinking that sadly we would have lost our gorgeous blooms, however on arrival I could not have been more wrong! Yes, we may have lost the blooms in the trees but oh my goodness we arrived to a breathtaking carpet of Jacaranda purple! A gorgeous backdrop to a perfect Family Portrait Session! Absolutely gorgeous! The weather is one thing in my life as a professional photographer I have absolutely no control over, but wow ... sometimes with a little luck, Mother Nature sure does put on a spectacular show at the very perfect moments in time!
